How the system works

We all have things lurking at the back of our wardrobe which we have never worn, or have perhaps worn only once or twice. They may well have seemed like items to die for at the time, but now you wouldn’t be seen dead in them for one reason or another!

So why not let The Frockery help you turn these unwanted items into cash by finding them a new, appreciative owner? We offer a discreet, reliable, commission-based service to clients who wish to re-sell their new or nearly new quality garments and accessories.

Terms & Conditions

Before sending your item(s) to us, please read the following terms and conditions carefully.

Only unworn or nearly new items in pristine condition will be accepted for sale by The Frockery and you should refer to our suitability guidelines before sending any item to us. If you are in any doubt as to a particular item’s suitability, please contact us first. We reserve the right to refuse to list any item, and if your item is deemed unsuitable for sale on our website, you will be notified by e-mail. The item will then be returned to you if you send us the appropriate postage within 7 days. If we do not hear from you within one month, the item will be donated to charity.

When you send us your item(s) for sale, you must include a completed item description form and proof of authenticity, such as an original receipt, for any ‘designer’ item. We will confirm receipt of your item(s) by e-mail or post and, after careful examination for marks and flaws, indicate the price we would expect to realise and the anticipated timescale for listing the item(s). You should note that, depending on our current stock list and seasonal factors, there may be a delay in listing your item(s). The Frockery will store your item(s) carefully until sold or returned to you, but in the event of loss or damage, our liability will not exceed the price at which the item would have been offered for sale.

Each item will be offered for sale on The Frockery website for a period of three months at the price agreed. It may also be marketed directly to our established mailing list of potential buyers and through other appropriate media. When it is sold, we will send you within one calendar month of the sale date a payment for the item’s actual selling price less The Frockery’s commission of 40% (subject to a minimum charge of £8 per item). If it does not sell within three months, it may be offered at a reduced price for one further month.

In the event that it remains unsold, you will be notified by e-mail or post and the item will be returned to you if you send us the appropriate postage within 7 days. If we do not hear from you within one month of our notification, the item will be donated to charity. Should you wish us to return an unsold item to you at any other time, we will do so immediately upon receipt of the appropriate postage and an administration fee of £5 per item.

By sending us your item(s) for sale, you agree to these terms and conditions.
