The Summer of Pre-Loved

In the summer of 1967 up to 100.000 hippies, also known as 'flower children', converged on the Haight-Ashbury District of San Francisco to celebrate peace and love, and in the words of Timothy Leary, 'turn on, tune in, drop out'. It signified the beginning of a radical counter-cultural movement that had profound reverberations across the USA and the rest of the world as young people united in protest against the Vietnam war and railed against the political establishment.

Fast forward 50 years from what was to become known as the Summer of Love and hipsters have largely supplanted hippies, but the new 'hip' culture similarly eschews mainstream social influences and conventions in favour of  indie music, unique fashion statements and more progressive ideas. Peace and love have metamorphosed into environmentalism and civil rights activism, with a laptop and latte on the side.

As vintage bohemian and hippie style frockery is one again enjoying a renaissance, we thought we'd celebrate our own 'Summer of Pre-Loved' and we're offering 15% off all our boho festival frockery throughout June. Just enter code SUMMER-17 at the checkout and the discount will be applied.
