Congratulations to Gordon Millar at Scot Street Style on the launch this weekend of his crowd-funded book, Ønward! (Yes, we can do the Scandinavian O with a stroke through it!) Having run into him at the Herald Fashion Awards, we especially like his impressive beard and vintage jacket, not to mention the fact that he kindly retweets our frockery frippery on a regular basis. Gordon is a gifted facilitator and powerful proponent of all things creative in Scotland, but rather than us reinvent the accolades, this is what the Skinny had to say about the phenomenon that is #ScotStreetStyle. It's a great concept, we like the emphasis on freedom of expression and are always up for a bit of collaboration.
On a nostalgic street style note, here is our own K Frocker a few years back when she was snapped by the Herald in Glasgow's Byres Road. The most photogenic of the frockers, she has since exchanged student life in the West End of Glasgow for a career in the West End of London, where she still gets snapped a lot (and still wears Frockery frockery!)
Meanwhile, for those of you who haven't been paying attention, the 5th Annual Frockery Eco Fashion Challenge has kicked off on our Facebook Group and Twitter feed (using the #frockerychallenge hashtag) where we are celebrating sustainable style for the whole of February by showcasing all things eco-chic in the form of vintage, preloved and/or hand made outfits that help save the wallet as well as the planet. There are prizes of Frockery vouchers at the end of the month for the most creative eco-fashionistas, so if, like us, you need something to cheer you up after paying the tax bill and /or post Christmas credit cards, then this is surely it!
Here's one of our previous winners - Janice Stewart, owner of Tweed’ll Dee By Notions - who has joined this year's judging panel to choose our winning eco-fashionistas. She sets a shiningly stylish example of creative and colourful eco chic in Brechin and beyond. You cannae miss her and Gordon would fair like that (former undertaker's) jaikit!
In rather less flamboyant fashion, two of the frockers celebrated the first day of this year's challenge by seeking to show off some 'Scott Street' style in Perth, but actually ended up looking like extras from Frozen!

Q: What do I have to do to enter?
A: Easy! Take a picture of yourself in an outfit and add a bit of text to say where you got the items and how much they cost.
Q: Do I have to buy more stuff or use what I have?
A: It’s all about being eco-friendly…you may have had items for years….or maybe you bagged a bargain last week....it doesn’t matter.
Q: I’m camera shy….do I have to show my face?
A: It would be better if your face is shown…otherwise how do we know it’s you?
Q: Do I have to make something?...I can't sew!
A: No…though it is nice to see how people adapt their clothing buys.
Q: Do I have to post a picture every day?
A: No…a couple of pictures are enough…more are a bonus!
Q: Can the whole world see my pictures?
A: No, only those in the closed Facebook group can see them (or you can post them publicly on Twitter).
